Suppliers & Components | Customers & Products

There are component declarations and product declarations. Where is the difference?

In SAP Product Stewardship Network the terms product declaration and component declaration are used. These terms describe the same declarations, but from opposite sides of the supply chain. Declarations you create as a supplier are referred to as product declarations, while declarations you request as a customer from your suppliers are referred to as component declarations.

Why are there two work centers - one called SUPPLIERS & COMPONENTS and one called CUSTOMERS & PRODUCTS?

There are two work centers, because most companies are in the middle of the supply chain. Hence, they do have suppliers and customers.  To administrate your suppliers and the components they deliver to you, go to the SUPPLIERS & COMPONENTS work center. To administrate your customers and your own products, navigate to the CUSTOMERS & COMPONENTS work center.

How can I search for specific component declarations?

You can search for specific component declarations by clicking the magnifying glass symbol in the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen. A search window opens. Choose Component declarations from the drop down list and enter your search term.

Where can I see the invitations that I have send out to my suppliers?

To see your supplier invitations, go to the SUPPLIERS & COMPONENTS work center and click on Sent connection requests.

When I have invited a supplier to join the network and this suppliers joins the network - do I manually need to add this supplier to my network?

No, once a supplier has registered based on your invitation you will automatically be connected to this supplier. There is no extra step needed.

When uploading supplier or products - how do I know the format in which I need to provide data?

There are help files available for your convenience. These help files can be downloaded with the templates.

Can I add a message to my component declaration request?

Yes. Create a component declaration request from the corresponding quick activity on the toolbar and save it. Then open the request from Outgoing declaration requests. Add your personalized message and send out the request.

Where can I see who assigned my product declaration?

If you open your product declaration, navigate to Assigned companies. Here you´ll find a list of companies that have assigned your product declaration.

What does the status In Review mean?

Declarations are automatically set to status In Review when a new version of a regulatory list has been published. Please review your declarations and update them accordingly.

How can I update my product declarations with regard to an updated EU REACH Candidate List?

Users of the Basic Edition can update their product declarations by clicking the UPDATE EU REACH SVHC button for each declaration. If you are using the Professional or Enterprise Edition you can update all declarations by using the Start REACH SVHC button. All declarations will then be updated at once.

How can I update my product declaration with a SVHC of the new EU REACH Candidate List?

To declare a substance of the new EU REACH Candiate List, open the corresponding declaration, click on Edit, declare the substance and save your changes.

Family declarations

What are family declarations?

Family declarations can be created for products that share the same product compliance status. Instead of creating a single product declaration for each product, you can create a family declaration.

Do companies see my family declarations?

No, other companies on the network only see the single products of a family. They do not see that a product belongs to a family declaration.

Can I request data from suppliers for several components at once?

No, component requests can only be sent for single components.

Notifications

Notifications remain in the HOME work center after I have read them. How can I delete them?

SAP EHS Management 3.0 Integration

What is the difference between SAP EHSM 3.0 and SAP Product Stewardship Network?

Product Stewardship Network is designed to be a many-to-many online collaboration community, where participants can invite and connect to their supply chain, and streamline the exchange of material and compliance declarations.
